Selection Procedure
- The candidate should fulfill the eligibility requirements according to their specialization while applying for admission.
- It will be a two stage process. Joy University Admission Test (JOYAT) has 50% weightage for Research Methodology and 50% weightage for Subject Specific Questions. Candidates who score greater than or equal to 50% in the test will be eligible to appear for interview in the second stage.
- Candidates shortlisted on the basis of JOYAT score will be required to appear for an interview before a duly constituted Committee. The interview shall consider:
- Proposed research area.
- Industry tie up if any.
- Competence of the candidate for the proposed research.
- Research facilities needed.
- 30% of Interview score and 70% of JOYAT score will make the admission score.
- Application Fee: Rs.1000/- (Non Refundable).
Financial Assistance for Ph.D. Scholars
- For Full Time Ph.D. Scholars
Joy University offers financial assistance from its own resources as per selected and eligible PhD Research Scholars as per the Joy University PhD norms specified below.
- Full time Ph.D. Scholars will be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000/- per month after registration of Ph.D. course work.
- Continuance of the scholarship shall be subject to punctuality, discipline, good academic / research progress review.
- It shall be mandatory to perform the duties as Teaching Assistant for all the full-time research scholars availing the stipend.
- Full time research scholars have to assist the University / School / Department in its academic work, including tutorials, assignments, laboratory demonstration, supervision of fieldwork, library activities, group seminars, workshops, symposia, etc. from time to time. The total time to be spent on such activities will be around ten hours a week.
- The financial assistance is liable to cancellation, in case of misconduct/indiscipline/unsatisfactory progress of research work/failure in any examination.
- For Part Time Ph.D. Scholars
No research stipend shall be provided to Part Time Ph.D. Scholars.
- Industry Sponsored Research Scholars
No research stipend shall be provided to Industry Sponsored Ph.D. Scholars.
Annual Fees
Annual Tuition fee for
- Full Time Ph.D. : Rs. 1,00,000/-
- Part Time Ph.D. : Rs. 1,50,000/-
All the selected and eligible Full time Ph.D. scholars will be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000/- per month after successful completion of Ph.D. course work / after registration of Ph.D. course work as specified.
There is NO Financial Assistance given to Part - Time PhD Research Scholars.
